About the orchard
John Smit converted 40 acres of his Linden dairy farm to Fuji and Gala apples, then to grapes and cherries with his sons; the family emigrated from the Netherlands.
Sells at markets from Sacramento to the Bay Area and San Diego. Says some fruit is certified organic but is moving toward its own regenerative practices.
