About the orchard
A 148-acre farm run by Steven and Lisa Kashiwase. Steven's grandfather, a Japanese immigrant, planted a 20-acre vineyard in the 1920s that is still part of the farm, and his father bought most of the current acreage in 1948.
Steven studied pomology and entomology at UC Davis, began farming in the 1970s and converted to organic in the 1990s; CCOF certified since 1997 per Foodwise.
